Notes
The Roll lists his address as Walpole Street.
(CWGC records that Private F Harlock, regimental number A/22240, died on 14/6/1916 while serving in the 8th Battalion Canadian Infantry, and is commemorated on Ypres Menin Gate Memorial in Belgium. The Library and Archives Canada has Fred Harlock's attestation form indexed under the regimental number 422240, (rather than A/22240); the form records that he had enlisted on 18/3/1915, having been born on 20/8/1897 in Peterborough, England. His birth is listed by the General Register Office as actually having been registered in Peterborough in 1896 as "Fred Mitchell C Harlock". On the 1901 census he was living with his parents, Fred and Malvina, at 43 Craig Street, Peterborough. On the 1911 census he was recorded as "Fred Mitchell Challenger Harlock" in Chelmsford; his parents were at 58 Walpole Street in Peterborough on that census).
