Notes
The Roll lists his address as Granville Street. It recorded him as "Reginald Hardy", stating that he died from pneumonia on 25/10/1918 at Chatham, having served on HMS Dominion. However, he served in the Navy under the name "Richard Thomas Hardy", under which he is recorded in all his military records.

(The GRO Birth Index records that "Reginald Thomas Hardy" was born in Peterborough in the October quarter of 1884; that was therefore his legal name. On the 1901 census he was recorded as Reginald Hardy, living with his parents Thomas and Edith in Granville Street, Peterborough. On the 1911 census that "Reginald Hardy" was recorded as being a married man, boarding at 72 Wellington Road in Liverpool; his wife was not with him on that census. The GRO Marriage Index for 1910 records that "Richard Thomas Hardy" married Emily Gosnay in Walsall. CWGC records that Able Seaman R T Hardy of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, service number Palace Z/2409, died on 25/10/1918 while assigned to HMS Pembroke. They record that he is buried in grave A.U.1317 at Wakefield Cemetery in Yorkshire, and that he was the husband of Emily Hardy of 13 Savile Street, Wakefield. That is the only serviceman named Hardy whose death CWGC record as having occurred on 25/10/1918. The Jack Clegg Memorial Database of Royal Naval Division Casualties of the Great War records that Able Seaman "Richard Thomas Hardy", born 8/10/1884, husband of Emily of Wakefield, service number Palace A/2409, had joined the RNVR from the Army Reserve on 16/7/1917, and that he died on 25/10/1918 from heart failure following pneumonia. The War Graves Roll records that "Richard Thomas Hardy" had been born in Peterborough on 8/10/1884. The Medal Rolls record that his medals were issued under the name "Richard Thomas Hardy").
