(CWGC records that Gunner S J Harbour, regimental number 7883, died on 25/7/1916 while serving in 94th Company of the Royal Garraison Artillery, and is buried in grave VI.J.8 at Basra War Cemetery in Iraq. Soldiers Died in the Great War records that Samuel was a native of Peterborough, where he had enlisted. The Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects recorded him as a Driver, rather than a Gunner, in 94th Company of the RGA; that he died in Basra; and that his sister Sarah Cooper was his sole legatee. On the 1891 census he had been aged 15, living with his parents William and Mary in St John's Street, Peterborough; by the 1911 census he was serving as a Gunner in the Royal Garrison Artillery on the Isle of Wight).
