The Roll lists his address as Medehampstead, London Road. It lists only an approximate date of death.

(CWGC records that Lieutenant R D Foster of the 6th Battalion Lincolnshire Regiment died on 7/8/1915, and is commemorated on Helles Memorial in Turkey. They do not list his next of kin. Robert Douglas Foster was living with his parents, Robert John and Ellen, at Westborne Grove in Selby on the 1901 census; he was recorded as being aged 10 and to have been born in Selby. On the 1911 census he was a visitor at St Peter's School in York. He was an older brother to John Cecil Foster, who also died in WW1, and is named on the Peterborough Roll of Honour. When John's death was reported on 1/9/1917 in the Peterborough Advertiser, the report mentioned that their father was a Director of Farrows Ltd of the Fletton Mills in Peterborough. At the time of that report in 1917, the family had still not yet received confirmation of Robert's death in 1915, and was hoping in vain that he was still alive and being held a Prisoner of War).
