Notes
The Roll lists him as "late of Belsize Avenue, Woodstone". It records him as being in the Hunts Cyclists, which differs from official records.
(CWGC records that Private Nelson Edward Cornwall, regimental number 43033, died aged 19 on 7/9/1916 serving in the 1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment, and is commemorated on Special Memorial 13 at Peronne Road Cemetery at Maricourt in France. They record him as the son of Francis & Louisa Cornwall of 43 Central Hill, Upper Norwood, London.
Soldiers Died in the Great War indicates that Nelson Edward Cornwall had formerly served in the Hunts Cyclist Battalion under regimental number 787, and had been born in Upper Norwood but was living in Woodston when he enlisted in Old Fletton; it records that he died of wounds on 6/9/1916, rather than 7/9/1916. On the 1911 census Nelson had been living at 129 Belsize Avenue, Woodston with his parents, Francis & Louisa).
