(CWGC records that Private "William Bottamley Brown" , 31883, of the 6th Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment died aged 24 on 29/4/1917, and that he was the husband of Millicent Brown of 7 Priestgate, Peterborough; he is commemorated on Bay 5 of Arras Memorial in France. Soldiers Died in the Great War likewise records that he died on 29/4/1917, as do the Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, which record that his widow Millicent was his legatee. On the 1911 census William Bottomley Brown had been living with his mother, Elizabeth Ann, at 23 Albert Street, Spalding; his birth was registered in Spalding as "William Bottomley Brown" in 1893).
