Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked for the post office, first as a messenger boy and had just become a postman when he enlisted in June 1916. He was lost when the troopship Transylvania was torpedoed en route to Egypt. He is also commemorated on IWM 2738 and on a memorial at Savona Town Hall in Italy.
