Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked as a twister before he enlisted in September 1916. He was wounded at Polygon Wood on 4/10/17, treated in England and returned to his unit in May 1918, dying 3 months later. He was not found by them on any other Calderdale memorial.
