Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. Originally from Burnley, he was working in the Cornholme bobbin works before he enlisted in September 1914. He served in the Dardanelles but was then discharged and spent a year working in munitions. He was then called up in 1916 and went missing the following year. He is also commemorated on IWM 2224 and on the Tyne Cot Memorial. His age was given as both 34 and 36.
