The Mevagissey Museum (see References) provides his service and death details and the following biographical information: 'Arthur was born in 1919 to Henry LEAN and Marina BURT of Mevagissey.' The website also states that 'He served in 626 Fld Squ RE with Sapper OVER [also listed on this memorial] who was killed in action on 7th August 1944. They had both lived in Mevagissey and were born in 1919, so no doubt they grew up together.'
