Assistant Master at the Preparatory School in Bakewell, 1914. Commenced service on August 26th 1915. Second Lieutenant of the 8th (Service) Battalion, Border Regiment. Served in France. Died on July 19 1916 of wounds received in action during the Battle of the Somme on 8 July.'
