Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. His father was a choirmaster and he worked in the joinery department of a mill before he enlisted in July 1916. he was killed by a sniper and is also commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial but they did not find him on any other memorial in Calderdale.
