Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, was an ex-Regular with 19 year's service including in the Boer war and he re-enlisted in September 1916, leaving his munitions job. He died at a Casualty Clearing Station and is not commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial.
