The Nottinghamshire Roll of Honour (see References) provides the extra details. They add 'Thomas Alfred Girlin Hunt was born in 1886 the son of Joseph a labourer in a chemical works and Harriett Hunt née Welbourne and the brother of Harriet Jane, Joseph, Lilly May and Violet Norah Hunt. In 1911 they lived at Gate Inn Cottages Awsworth Nottinghamshire. Joseph was born in 1857 at Ironville, Harriett Welbourne was born in 1858 at Plungar, married in 1881 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district.' Before the war Thomas worked as 'a collier (hewer).'
