Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, to Mary Alice, and worked with his father as a farrier before he enlisted in September 1914. He served on the Hospital Ship Oxfordshire and died of smallpox whilst with the East African Expeditionary Force. He is also commemorated on IWM 2602 and 2763.
