Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He lived in Rastrick and worked for the dyeworks until he enlisted in June 1916. He died after only 3 weeks in France when his billet was hit by shellfire: a memorial service was held for him at Bridge End Congregational Church on 3rd December 1916. He is also commemorated on IWM 2738 and 2747 where his name is spelt Irving.
