Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details and the correct rank (which CWGC confirm). He was married, to Lilian, and they had two children. He worked at the Corporation gas works and was twice wounded before being killed by a sniper. He is also commemorated on IWM 2738 as well as the Tyne Cot Memorial.
