Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. A former pupil of Heath School, Halifax, he worked as plumber with his father before he enlisted in September 1914. One of the many of the regiment to die that day attacking the Schwaben Redoubt. He is widely commemorated on IWM 2689, 2676 and 29395.
