The following information was supplied by the school in 2024: 'Born in Kington [in 1892]. 1911 living at Gladestry Court with brother in law, Joseph William Taylor, working on the farm. May have transferred from Yeomanry to Cheshire Regiment. Possible service numbers 2813 (Shropshire Yeomanry) and 52858 (Cheshire Regiment). His parentage is not clear as, in 1901, [he was] recorded as living at Gladestry Court, where he is described as brother of Joseph Taylor.'
