Notes
The following information was supplied by the school in 2024. If he was Frederick George he was 'Born [in 1893] in Kington. 1901 Possibly s of James, a tailor. 18 High Street. In July 1915 LHS Roll of Honour. 1911 possibly a fitter by trade.' He has no definite death date. However, there is also Frederick James, who is also listed on IWM 109175 at the school, who was the son of 'Frederick and Elizabeth, Engine Cottages, Crooked Well. Father's death in 1918 reported in Kington Times but name given as Richard, former builder and contractor, former member of KUDC. Noted that eldest son killed in Egypt [presumably Frederick James] with RFC [on 4th August, 1916]'. Both men appear to have initially served in the Herefords.
