All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He went to Thames Junior School, and then at the Grammar School from 1931 until 1939. He was the son of W N Wright of Trent Road, and he too went on to join the RAF. He became a Sergeant (No 981770), and served with No 106 Squadron flying in the underpowered Manchester bomber (the immediate forerunner of the Lancaster) out of RAF Coningsby. He died on Saturday 21st February 1942, and his name is remembered on the Runnymede Memorial. He would undoubtedly served at RAF Conningsby with HW Shepherd under Guy Gibson.'
