All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He was the son of George Wood of Durham Road, and joined the School from Devonshire Juniors in 1930, staying until 1935. Although the memorial shows the name of “W.K.Wood”, and no other person of this name has attended the School, the War Graves Commission has no record that matches this person.' This is no longer true and the CWGC therefore acts as the source for his service and death details.
