All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He was the son of Herbert Whitehead of Alexandra Road and was at the School form 1933 until 1939, after coming from Thames School. He worked for the Midland Bank before joining the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve as a Lieutenant (A). The circumstances of his death are unknown, apart from the date of Tuesday 3rd October 1944, and he is buried in the family plot at Carleton Cemetery, Section B, Grave number 1556.'
