All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He attended Waterloo Junior School, before joining the Grammar School from 1930 to 1935. He was the son of Harold and Nellie Taylor of Talbot Road. He joined the Navy as Ordinary Seaman (D/JX192957), and was 21 when he was killed on board the destroyer HMS Venetia when it hit a mine in the Thames estuary on Friday 18th October 1940. His name is shown on the Plymouth Naval Memorial, Panel 39, and column 1.'
