Notes
All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He was the son of James and Mary Dorothy Myers of Highgate. He came from Palatine School and attended Blackpool Grammar School from 1938 until 1941. He became a draughtsman working at Vickers before joining No 50 Squadron RAFVR as a Sergeant (No 2205934) flying Lancaster IIs out of RAF Skellingthorpe near Lincoln. He died on “operations” on Wednesday 30th August 1944 aged only 19 (in one of 187 Lancasters destroyed from Skellingthorpe during the war), and the fact that his name is on the Runnymede Memorial (Panel 235) shows that he has no known grave. He was probably lost on a raid to either Konigsberg or Stettin, being shot down over Denmark.'
