All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'He came from Normanton and was at the school from 1928 until 1933. He lived on St Chads Road with his parents, Leonard and Emma Massey. He was a Signalman (No 2591056) in the Royal Corps of Signals, and did on Wednesday 23rd June 1943, aged 27. His grave is in the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery in Thailand.'
