All additional information and this short biography are supplied thanks to the research of the Blackpool Grammar School Old Boys: 'Attended Blackpool Secondary School, as it was then known, from 1920 until 1925. He was the son of George Frederick and Dorothy Norah Atkinson of Mere Road, Blackpool. He came from a private school, and went to Trent College, before becoming a Chartered Accountant. He was a Lieutenant in the East Yorkshire Regiment (No 235334) and died on Tuesday 6th April 1943, aged 32. He is buried in the SFAX War Cemetery in Tunisia.'
