Second Lieutenant, 14th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment), 1915; attached to the Royal Engineers. Served in France. Died of wounds in Belgium on the 18 June 1916: CWGC suggests he died in France given he is buried there.
