Nottingham Evening Post, Saturday 11th June 1921 (page 3) reported:
HUTHWAITE MEMORIAL. Tomorrow a memorial window is to be dedicated at the Huthwaite Parish Church, to the members of the Men's Bible Class who gave their lives in the late war. The window is a lancet one in the south side of the nave and is a symbolical subject, representing our Lord giving the crown of glory to the young knight, supported by adoring angels. The subject is enclosed in a rich canopy and base, and is full of rich colour and delicate treatment. The window has been designed and executed by Messrs. Geo. F. Gascoyne and Son, Nottingham.

Mansfield Reporter, Friday 17th June 1921 (page 8) reported:
HUTHWAITE WAR MEMORIAL. UNVEILING OF CHURCH WINDOW. The Rev. F. N Bestwick, vicar of Thorney, who laboured in the parish of Huthwaite for 20 years, visited his old parish for the first time on Sunday since he left three years ago. The occasion coincided with the dedication of a beautiful stained glass window, erected in the church to the memory of members of the Bible class who fell in the great war. Mr Bestwick had charge of the services for the day, commencing with eight o'clock Communion. In the afternoon the dedication of the window took place. The procession to the window was headed by the Rev. F. N. Bestwick, Mrs Middleton (the present vicar's wife), and Mrs. J. Taylor, mother of the late class leader who heads the list of names on the memorial. The window was "handed over" at the altar rails to the Vicar by representatives of the Young Men's Bible Class - W. Lowe, G. Wilmot, B Hill, A. Pickaver and J. Wilson. The window is a particularly beautiful one, and is the work of Messrs Gascoyne, of Nottingham, is executed in clear colours, and represents a knight stepping from a boat, symbolical of the passing from this life into the new life, and receiving a crown of victory from Christ. On either side are angels bearing laurel, the reward for good service. The doves are symbolical of peace.
