The College website (see References) carries this brief biography: 'College Notes: Came up to Emmanuel as a Research Student in 1917 and did not take a degree. Military Service: Died 22 December 1940 along with his wife, Edith, in an air raid on their home, “The Cottage”, Barton Road, Salford.'
