The College website (see References) carries this brief biography: 'College Notes: Came up in 1930 to study Economics and Law. BA 1933. Military Service: 2nd Lieutenant 97 (The Kent Yeomanry) Field Regiment Royal Artillery. Died 12 June 1940 near Saint-Valery-en-Caux on the day allied forces in northern France surrendered there.'
