He was a College Servant. The College website adds: 'Father was a butcher, at 66 Mill Road, Cambridge. Commemorated at Thiepval Memorial, Somme [his younger brother Harry, also in the Cambridgeshire Regiment (where Frederick began his service), died also at the Somme on 8.8.1918 and is buried at Beacon Cemetery, Sailly, Laurette].'
