The College website adds: 'He would have come up in 1914 from Marlborough School. Scholar, classics. “Pretty creditable my surviving 2 months I think.” (Letter mid-July 1915) Citation London Gazette 6.9.1915. Commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres. [His eldest brother Leslie was wounded in the same action and killed on 4.6.1916; he is buried at Barlin Cemetery. His other brother, Kenneth, is also commemorated on this memorial.
