Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra detail. He played sport for Heath School Old Boys and performed in their amateur theatrical group but worked as an apprentice for a local electrical engineers in Leeds. He died on his second tour of duty in South Africa where he contracted enteric from the cases he was caring for. He died on his way home and is also commemorated on IWM 69611.
