According to the Warrington Museum and Art Gallery (see references): Born in Warrington 12th December 1896 to James and Mary Carlisle. 1911 census 12 Bluecoat St, occupation Grocers Assistant. Educated at St Ann’s School. Worked for Pegram Grocers, Market St. Regiment Royal Army Medical Corps Private No. 41518. Died of Wounds 8th July 1916 France & Flanders. Cemetery Thiepval Memorial Ref.
