Met Office adds: Born 1897, Died 12 April 1917 near Warncourt during the Battle of Arras. No known grave, remembered on the Arras Memorial. Edward is thought to have been one of the two boys of the Meteorological Office employed on general office or cleaning duties who were identified as being available for enlistment into the army when they came of age.
