Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He worked for a firm of fruiterers before he enlisted in 1940. he was lost when the MV Arabistan was torpedoed in the South Atlantic and, although he was not found to have been commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial, he is named on the Tower Hill Memorial.
