Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married, with 2 children, and worked in a mill before the war. Not commissioned until 1945, he was serving in the RAF Regiment and was seconded to the Aden Protectorate Levies when he was killed. This was the only Calderdale memorial they found him commemorated on.
