Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married and worked for the confectionery firm Macintosh in Halifax before he enlisted in June 1940. He is also commemorated on the Rangoon Memorial but not on any other Calderdale memorial that they researched. His father, Thomas, was a WW1 casualty and is also recorded on this memorial.
