Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was engaged to a nurse, a Betty Blake from Lymington, and he worked in Bailiff Bridge before the war. He was evacuated from Dunkirk and died in Tunisia. This was the only Calderdale memorial they found him commemorated on.
