Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was a member of a local tennis club, was a member of the Brighouse ATC and worked in his father's wireworks before he enlisted in 1941. He trained as a wireless operator and navigator in South Africa and flew with 464 Squadron, dying when his Mosquito was shot down by flak over Normandy. He is also commemorated on IWM 2604 and there is a memorial bed in the Holtzmann Ward of the Bradford ENT Hospital in his name.
