Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married to Mary, they had a child and he worked as the projectionist at the Ritz Cinema before he enlisted in February 1940 and served as a radio electrician. He died of an illness at the Princess Mary Hospital and Hornshaw and Fowler could not find him commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial.
