Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was married and enlisted in July 1916, crossing to France in the November. He was slightly wounded on 27/3/18 but went missing the following day: the next news of him came in September 1918 when the wife of a RAMC man sent to his Harry's family a packet of papers and photos which her husband had taken from a dead body and which had been pierced by a bullet. Harry is not commemorated on any other Calderdale memorial.
