Notes
Hornshaw and Fowler provide the extra details. He was from Heptonstall and had two uncles who were parsons and so was a server in Heptonstall Parish Church before the war. He trained in Canada and was killed when his aircraft disintegrated shortly after take-off from Millfield Airfield in Northumberland. Fragments of the aircraft were found in 3 counties: his body was found in Birgham-on-Tweed.
