How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
A two light window dedicated to the ties between RAF Scampton and Scampton church, and those who served at RAF Scampton 1918-2018. The left light has the RAF badge at top followed by the inscription and an image of a Lancaster bomber. The right light has the Red Arrow Hawk aircraft in diamond 9 formation, a Vulcan bomber the years 1918-2018, and at bottom the station crest of RAF Scampton, the rose window above the two lights has the dove of peace at centre.
Beneath the window is a wall mounted dedicatory stone tablet, incised and picked out in black with the crest of the Royal Air Force at top centre, the whole surrounded by a single line border.
Beneath the tablet is a lectern with a carved RAF badge on the top, and a brown leather bound book with gold leaf inscription in recognition of the people who donated to create the memorial.
Additionally, in the RAF Chapel, is a framed, free standing wooden dedicatory board presented by 'Burnt Therapy' on the commissioning of the window. Branded into the wood are at top, the RAF Scampton badge three Hawk aircraft, an Avro Lancaster and an Avro Vulcan, and at bottom a dedicatory brass plaque.
