The window was not found by the Essex Society for Family History Society when they conducted a survey of all the memorials in the School's Chapel in June 2001. (Felsted School's website mentions that some of the School's other war memorial windows were demolished when the Chapel was restored/extended in the early 1960s; perhaps this window was another such case?).

Condition
What is the memorial's maintenance history?
Felsted School's 450 year Souvenir booklet mentioned on page 20, in its paragraph re Lieutenant Walter Richard Pollock Hamilton VC, that 'Felstedians donated to provide the School Chapel with a stained glass memorial window in his memory'. (No further details of the window were given in that publication). When the Essex Society for Family History surveyed the memorials within Felsted School's Chapel in June 2001 they did not find/record any such window in that building. Felsted School's webpage re their war memorials (https://archives.felsted.essex.sch.uk/of/warmem/index.php) does not mention this window, but does state of other memorial windows in the Chapel that they were demolished/destroyed 'during the redevelopment of the Chapel in 1964'. Perhaps the memorial window re Lieutenant Hamilton VC was therefore another such case?

Essex Society for Family History: Monumental Inscriptions at Felsted School Chapel; survey completed June 2001. This survey report did include the stone memorial in the Chapel commemorating the School's two Victoria Cross recipients, Lieutenant Walter Richard Pollock Hamilton and John Leslie Green (to which our record 97282 refers)), but omitted any mention of the presence of a memorial window to Lieutenant Hamilton. This implies that the window was no longer in situ by that time.
