How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
A stained glass window, with two mullions, commemorating the service of Indian Army soldiers during the inter-World War period. The central detail depicts an Indian soldier facing forwards and holding a rifle across his body, above the lettering 'Afghanistan 1919'. Above this panel is a pane commemorating 'Waziristan 1918-1930 and 1937-1938'. The top right panel commemorates service on the North-West Frontier. The bottom right panel displays the honour 'Kurdistan 1923'. On the left are panels commemorating the 'Arab Rebellion' and the 'Shanghai Defence Force 1927'. The coats of arms of the four relevant Commanders-in-Chief of the Indian Army (i.e. Rawlinson 1920-25, Birdwood 1925-30, Chetwode 1930-35 and Cassells 1935-41) are depicted in the four corners of the window.
