Memorial Details
What type of memorial is it?
How would you describe the memorial and its ornamentation?
Five-light East window, with tracery. A coat of arms is in a quatrefoil at the top of the window. In tracery each side is the sacred monogram IHS, surrounded by lilies, which also adorn other sections of the tracery. Beneath the coat of arms the Badges of the Manchester Regiment are depicted in two sections, with the Badges of the King's Royal Rifle Corps in a quatrefoil to its left, and the Badge of the Royal Flying Corps in a quatrefoil to its right. The Badges are those of the units the three brothers commemorated served with. The central light depicts Christ on the Cross, with two officers with bandages about their heads in prayerful positions at the foot of the cross. The four outer lights feature Saints in armour, with weapons - from the left: St George, St Michael, King David, and an unidentified. The Dedication is inscribed on a scroll across the central three lights.
