Account of unveiling: Bury and Norwich Post, 7th February 1919
Newmarket Journal, Saturday 8 February 1919 (page 2) reported: 'KENTFORD GIFT TO THE PARISH CHURCH. The parish church of Kentford has been very materially beautified by the generous gift of Mr. H. Lord, of Kentford Lodge, of a coloured east end window, the work of Messrs. Burlison & Grill. It consists of three panels. In the left are the Resurrection, St, James and the Presentation in the Temple; on the right is the Ascension, St. John and the Epiphany; and in the centre is Christ in majesty and the Crucifixion, with a knight in armour at the foot of the Cross. The left and right panels are in memory of the late Simeon and Charlotte Lord, father and mother of the kind donor, and the centre in memory of his son, Henry Otto Lord, Scholar of Christ College, Cambridge, Lieutenant of Manchester Regt., who fell in action on the 1st July, 1916, in the Somme offensive. The colouring is beautifully subdued and worthy of the sacred edifice. The window was dedicated on Sunday last by the Ven. Archdeacon of Sudbury at the morning service, when the Archdeacon gave a powerful address to an overflowing congregation'.
