Additional Notes
Additional general notes on the memorial
The memorial was unveiled by Mr. Robert Thorley Johnson. He was the headmaster from 1894 to 1904, when he was forced to retire because of ill health. His two sons - G R Johnson and H N Johnson - were both killed in the war. However, neither boy came to the school as a pupil. It is presumed that they were included on the memorial out of respect for their father. As the headmaster lived on the premises, they would both have 'been' at the school as children.
